5 Ways To Get Your (Whey!) Protein On The Go!
Posted on Sep 30, 2008 under Casein Protein, General, Protein Bars, Soy Protein, Whey Protein |
We seem to be getting busier every day. Work, school, kids, sports, socializing, training, etc. Unfortunately the first element of our life that tends to suffer is diet. Food is becoming more about convenience than quality. Fast food restaurants are booming!
The average American only consumes around 50% of the protein they need each day. Anyone who plays sport, works out, or does any type of physical exercise requires more protein than your average Joe 6-pack.
There are some good ways you can get the protein you need every day, without having to visit fast food restaurants or prepare extra meals. I have included 5 easy ways below to help you get the protein you need every day!
5 Ways to Get Your Whey!
1. New Whey Liquid Protein Shots
These have only just hit the internet, and I love them! They’re perfect for almost anyone! Each shot has 42 grams of quality whey protein isolate and has zero fat or carbohydrates. They taste damn good, either at room temperature or straight from the fridge. And they’re pretty small so you can easily throw a couple of them in your bag for sport or work.
2. Protein supplement + shaker = easy and cheap source of protein
This is how I get my protein at work and after the gym. I have a couple of shaker bottles at home. Before I leave the house I add a couple of scoops of protein powder (and anything else I want to add) to each shaker. Throw them in my bag and off I go. Then when I want some protein I just add some cold water or milk. Simple, easy and cheap! The only downside is you have to wash the shakers and if you leave them for too long without cleaning them they smell a lot!!
3. Promax protein bars
I have tried a lot of protein bars and I’ve got to say that the Promax protein bar would be in the top 3 as far as taste, texture and ingredients go. I go for bars that are low in sugar, no trans fats, average amount of carbs, and high protein. The Promax 70 calorie bar also tastes good and is good for people trying to keep the calories down to a minimum.
4. Ready to drink protein shakes
These are usually expensive if you buy from your gym or supermarket, but if you buy them in packs of 6-12 on the internet they work out pretty damn cheap! It’s usually a good idea to check out reviews of these because some of them really do not taste that good.
5. Pre-packaged health on-the-go meals
If you’re not keen on bars or shakes you can now pick up some really good on-the-go meals. These meals are usually something you just have to add water to and generally (the ones I’ve tried) make up a pretty solid meal. One of my favorites is Oats N More, and Muscle Milk N Oats. Both these combine high quality whey protein with oats for a good well rounded meal that you can make in about a minute.
