Whey protein isolate is a much more pure form of whey protein. When I say pure, I mean it contains more protein and less fats and lactose. Whey protein isolate also has a much higher biological (BV) value than concentrate.

Whey protein isolate typically is about 90-98% protein, whereas whey protein concentrate is about 75-80%. Whey protein blends are also very common in the market. They are usually about 50/50 isolate and concentrate. This often brings the price right down.
